Martin was born in Ballygar, County Galway along time ago and arrived in Manchester in 1963, he is married to Liz and they have 2 daughters and 2 sons.

Martin has been involved with Oisins GAA Club for the past 20yrs and has shared in the club's success and changes over that time.

Martin got involved with The Full Irish in 2004 when Joe asked if he would cover the sports section of the show. With no previous experience Martin took the bull by the horns and through his dedication and commitment has now established the GAA section as a hugely popular part of the show in a short space of time.

Martin says "I have enjoyed my time with the show and we have a great team of presenters who work very well together. I have had the privilege to meet and interview people whom we see on tv or read about, its an exciting job but demands the highest degree of effort".
